Upcoming Drupal Modules
In case you didn't know, this site is powered by Drupal and the people over there have a few modules - you might recognise them better as plug-ins or add-ons - which we are planning on implementing in the near future. Already we have installed the ability to report a dodgy post to the staff and the option to send private messages to each other but we want more!
Okey dokey - first up, we want to make posting comments and messages that bit more simple for those who don't have an extensive knowledge of HTML. So instead of having to remember all those codes and what have you, you can use a module called TinyMCE WYSIWYG which will present you will various text input options such as bold, italic and underline etc at the touch of a button. Neat, huh?
Purely for my own amusement, we'll be trying to get hold of a module that will allow smilies - those little faces which either annoy or delight people - so you can express in an image what a thousand words cannot. Or something like that anyway...I've also been working on dealing with spammers and people who like to post unpleasant things on forums by making sure that they don't get much of a chance to register in the first place but I've yet to find the module which will hide these idiots from the rest of you guys so you don't have to look at their rubbish...but I will find it and when I do, rest assured it will be implemented ASAP. If you have a problem with a spammer or obnoxious poster, just drop me a quick email and I'll give them a damn good hiding. Or something just as suitable.
Right then - as you were...
